Our Story
Our mission is very personal to us, because we’ve lived it.
In the spring of 1978, our founder Jim Hangstefer found out he had terminal brain cancer.
The news was devastating. Jim was only 23 years old, and his wife Pat was eight months pregnant with their first child.
After seeking spiritual guidance from God’s Word, Jim decided to undergo surgery, but the surgeons were only able to remove 80% of his brain tumor, leaving a significant portion that needed to be addressed in order to save his life.
Chemotherapy seemed to be Jim’s only option. But after extensive research and guidance from Pat’s parents, Jim began following a course of natural alternatives to chemo.
This natural course required an incredible amount of natural remedies—at one point, Jim was taking 200 supplements a day!—but it worked.
After two years, Jim completely beat his brain cancer using natural supplements without undergoing a single chemotherapy treatment.
Following his remarkable recovery, Jim began hearing from friends who wanted to know how they could achieve similar results for themselves. These friends told other people, and soon he was inundated with requests for advice.
Jim felt incredibly fortunate to have found a natural path toward healing himself, and he wanted to share his good fortune with others. Out of this deep gratitude, he and Pat founded Nature’s Finest Nutrition.
Today Jim, Pat, and their daughter Emily and daughter-in-law, Erin run Nature’s Finest Nutrition with pride, helping people all across the U.S. to live natural, healthy lives.
